The Home of Pila Version 2.0 and Up |
Here is the text of the README distributed with the Pila package and certainly worth reading for you to understand what Pila is, where it comes from and where it is evolving to: README
If you came here to just download the new Pila Version 2.0 package you'd better be clicking here (Pila-2.0.zip) and unziping the archive (i.e. with infozip's unzip command) into a directory of your liking (i.e. ~/PalmDev). Read the README to find out, what you can do from there.
But before you try to do anything with Pila Version 2.0 you'll have to create your own Pila SDK from the original Palm OS SDK 5. This is necessary because I don't have the rights to re-distribute the Palm OS SDK in any (modified or unmodified) form. How you go about getting your Pila SDK is written in great detail in the Pila User's Manual (pila-user-manual.html) in Appendix B. In that manual you'll also find further links to help you get started with assembler programming for the Palm OS based devices. And even if you have used Pila before you should definitely read the user manual because there are quite a few things that changed!
